A paradise
The concept of paradise has been a crucial one throughout the ages. Its significance lies in its capacity to make life meaningful and enjoyable regardless of the fact that it is invariably temporary. Paradise is a place of perfect peace and abundance. It is a place outside ordinary historical time and therefore is immune to illness or crime, or even death. It is also a place that is inhabited by people who are eternally healthy and young.
Paradise has been described in a variety of ways, from the biblical Garden of Eden to the lush Pacific Ocean island paradises of novels and Gauguin paintings. It can even be seen in the modern world due to the rise of communes and the increasing interest in outdoor living and gardening. In reality the word "utopian" brings images of paradise. Although not all utopias have religious connotations, they typically contain motifs of paradise. They are also designed to attain certain characteristics and attributes of paradise in real life.
There are a variety of meanings for the word paradise, but most of them refer to a state of extreme beauty or enjoyment. It could also be a place that is ideal for a particular sport or pastime. For instance, a golfer’s paradise or a hummingbird's paradise. In a religious context, it may refer to heaven, the home of the righteous after death.
Many languages have utilized the word paradise, but it was first used in the ancient Iranian language of Avestan. The word is pairidaeza or "walled enclosure," from the roots pairi, "around," and daeza, "wall." It became part of the Hebrew and other Aramaic scriptures, such as paradeisos. It was later was later adapted into Greek, where it became paradise.
In the Bible The Bible teaches that the Garden of Eden is paradise. It was a beautiful place where the first couple lived, unaffected of illness and death. The paradise was lost, however, after they disobeyed God. In later Bible prophecies, heaven is seen as a place in the eschatological future, where a happy humanity will live forever. The word paradise can also be a reference to a state of emotional or spiritual happiness and joy.
